In her screen test she refused to do the test in a hurry and instead spent the day off to practice. After that, she signed up for three films together with Yash Raj Films. She played the young wife of an older man in the film (the the same role Shah Rukh Khan played). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared with Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". It received mixed reviews. In the same year, Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' alongside Ranveer Singh in the role of a middle-class Punjabi girl who launches her own wedding planning business. It was a surprise hit with a lot of praise. Anushka's three-film deal with Yash Raj Films ended with Band Baaja Baraat.
